Low Overhead - Low Cost
The large shops today use CAD/CAM, rapid prototype, laser etch or CNC mills in model work. Saves some time on the front end, but they charge far more on a per hour basis than a mom & pop shop like ours. We still make models 'old school' to save overhead on your smaller projects, that would otherwise be cost prohibitive in the bigger shops.
